World Mobile Earth Node

Dear NODEIFI Community,

I'm reaching out with an important update regarding the 8th World Mobile Earth Node that was arranged for our community back in June 2022. I want to be transparent with you about where things stand and what we're doing to work toward a positive resolution.

Background

As many of you know, in mid-2022 we collectively participated in the World Mobile Earth Node auctions as a community. The arrangement was clear: if we secured three or more nodes through auction, we would qualify for an additional node without auction fees in exchange for 100,000 WMT tokens. Our community exceeded expectations by purchasing seven Earth Nodes, and we set aside the 100k WMT for the promised 8th node.

Current Situation

Over the past few weeks, we've encountered significant challenges in completing this arrangement. Despite multiple attempts to coordinate the final token-for-NFT exchange, we've been informed that the arrangement is no longer being honored due to the time that has elapsed and the appreciation in node value.

This has been deeply disappointing, particularly given that:

• We fulfilled our part of the agreement by purchasing seven nodes (more than double the required three)
• We maintained the 100,000 WMT tokens ready for exchange
• We made multiple attempts to complete the transaction over the past years
• As recently as February 2025, there were active discussions about completing the exchange

What We've Done

I want you to know that we have worked tirelessly to resolve this situation:

• Documented everything: We've compiled comprehensive evidence including audio recordings, message transcripts, and timeline documentation spanning from June 2022 to present
• Maintained professional communication: Despite frustrations, we've consistently approached this with respect and a focus on finding a fair solution
• Reached out repeatedly: We've made numerous attempts to schedule calls and complete the exchange, working around scheduling challenges on both sides
• Focused on community benefit: Throughout all communications, we've emphasized that this is about helping community members who pooled resources together, not personal gain

Where We Stand Now

We are not giving up. We are currently exploring resolution options through mutual parties who understand the situation and may be able to facilitate a constructive dialogue. We believe that when all the facts are reviewed objectively, the right outcome will become clear.

The reality is that this arrangement was made in good faith, witnessed by multiple community members, and we have the documentation to support it. We're committed to exhausting every reasonable avenue before considering any further steps.

What This Means for You

I want to be honest with you: the situation is challenging, but we remain hopeful. The 100,000 WMT tokens remain secured and designated for this purpose. We're not asking for anything beyond what was originally agreed upon, and we're not approaching this with any intent other than honoring the commitment that was made to our community.

For those of you who contributed to the 8th node pool, please know that your trust and investment are not being taken lightly. We're treating this with the seriousness it deserves.

This has been one of the most challenging situations I've navigated in the crypto space. It's difficult when arrangements made in good faith become complicated by time, value appreciation, and miscommunication. But I believe in doing the right thing, and I believe that most people, when presented with the full picture, want to do the right thing too.

We built this community on principles of transparency, mutual support, and long-term thinking. Those principles guide us now. We're not interested in drama or public disputes—we're interested in a fair resolution that honors the original agreement and benefits the community members who participated in good faith.
